Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Admitting Coordinator to join our Rehabilitation Services Administration team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • First Point of Contact: Serve as the first point of contact for patients in our ambulatory clinics, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Registration and Scheduling: Enter patient data into our registration system, verify insurance and/or third-party coverage, and schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
  • Preceptor and Lead: Serve as a preceptor and lead for other Admit Workers in the clinic, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless operations.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry, answering phone calls, and responding to patient inquiries.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience in a healthcare or administrative setting, with a focus on patient registration and scheduling.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer software, including data entry and retrieval systems.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese (certain clinics may require this qualification).
