Lead Security Engineer for Offensive Strategies

NVIDIA is on the lookout for a driven and innovative engineer with a strong foundation in system software and security expertise to join our Server Platform Software team.

Your primary focus will be on offensive security initiatives for our Data Center Systems, including NVIDIA HGX, DGX, and MGX.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Detect vulnerabilities in our Data Center Systems through both static and dynamic analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to resolve identified issues.
  • Guarantee the quality and reliability of our pre-release products.
  • Promote tools, methodologies, and strategies to enhance product security and reliability.


Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years in a security engineering or vulnerability research role, with at least 4 years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Exceptional programming skills in C and assembly language.
  • Familiarity with best practices in the software development lifecycle, including threat modeling, unit testing, regression testing, and code auditing.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and tools, including static analysis tools like Coverity and IKOS Checkmarx, as well as dynamic analysis tools such as AFL, Peach, Bullseye, and LDRA.
  • Knowledge of modern server architecture, hypervisor security research, and firmware analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to various audiences and complexities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and remotely to achieve complex objectives.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in reverse engineering and exploitation techniques.
  • Familiarity with penetration testing methods and tools.
  • Experience with GPU-accelerated computing systems.
  • Proven ability to decompose and complete intricate technical tasks.
  • Published CVEs, security analyses, or relevant work samples.
  • Familiarity with computer system architecture and microprocessor fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.).

Your contributions will encompass various aspects of GPU system integration, including telemetry, metrics, health checks, diagnostics, configuration, and system management. These tools will serve both passive monitoring and active management roles, emphasizing operational transparency and seamless integration within customer environments.

Your code will support systems ranging from single-node developer setups to extensive clusters comprising thousands of nodes.

To thrive in this role, you should possess a robust Linux background, familiarity with modern distributed systems, and a strong work ethic.
