We seek a seasoned and driven Lead Cloud Security Engineer to enhance our Security team with security-focused initiatives.

The Lead Cloud Security Engineer is a proactive technical role responsible for managing a variety of cloud security measures and monitoring protocols. In this position at Umbra, you will play a key role in advancing our security framework. You will work closely with the Director of Security and our engineering teams on planning, requirements gathering, research, and the design of security solutions. This role can be performed remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Security and Software Teams to define and implement security strategies.

• Enhance security accessibility through automation, continuous integration pipelines, and other methods.

• Identify security tools and oversee the transition of solutions from proof of concept to production.

• Monitor, respond to, and remediate security incidents.

• Manage access controls for cloud infrastructure.

• Provide education and training on information system security best practices.

Additional Duties:
• Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in Information Security or engineering.

• 4+ years of direct experience with at least one Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Familiarity with SecOps processes, including detection, monitoring, alerting, and threat intelligence.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform, in a production setting.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle, particularly OWASP.

• In-depth knowledge of container security and secrets management.

• Experience integrating security tasks into CI/CD pipelines.

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Snyk and Poetry IDE.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in agile teams.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

• Knowledge of Syslogs, log management, and alerting tools such as Datadog.
