Job Overview

Position: Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite)

Contract Duration: 8+ Months

Visa Requirements: GC/USC

Interview Process: Initial virtual interview followed by an onsite meeting with the Hiring Manager and the OVT Security team.

Experience Requirement: Minimum of 8 years

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Subject Matter Expert (SME) has been functioning as a Virtual Chief Information Security Officer (VCISO) for several months, gaining the client's trust in evaluating candidates. Previous experiences have highlighted the importance of candidates being able to accurately discuss their skills and experiences as stated in their resumes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of technological frameworks including networks, applications, servers, cloud computing, authentication processes, and emerging tech trends.
  • Proficient in TCP/IP networking, Windows, Unix/Linux environments, and various networking services such as SSL, DNS, SMTP, and DHCP.
  • Over 8 years of hands-on experience in deploying, managing, and supporting security tools and platforms.
  • Collaborative experience with information security teams and functions, including security engineering, security operations, vulnerability assessments, threat management, incident response, threat intelligence, and cyber threat analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven track record of engaging effectively with diverse leadership levels.
  • Strong grasp of Cybersecurity Standards including ISO27001, NIST CSF, and CIS Benchmarks.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages is advantageous.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • The Engineer will be tasked with designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting security tools and platforms to safeguard the organization's computer systems, networks, and data. They will also contribute to enhancing the overall security posture and the integration of new technologies. The ideal candidate should proficiently utilize security tools and platforms such as EDR, DLP, Web Proxy, Messaging, and Vulnerability management systems in their daily operations.
