Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Construction Superintendents to join our industrial project management team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in subcontractor oversight and have expertise in various construction disciplines, including Piping, Electrical, and Architectural Building. Our expanding Industrial sector includes a wide array of projects, ranging from Water/Wastewater treatment facilities to Food & Beverage processing, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, and more.

District Overview

Kiewit’s subsidiary, TIC, specializes in direct-hire construction services for industrial projects across the nation. Our operations encompass a variety of sectors, including Power, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil, Gas, Chemical, and Mining. We are looking for dedicated professionals who thrive in an open-shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to craft personnel through general foremen, ensuring productivity, safety, quality, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Mentor junior superintendents, offering guidance and support.
  • Act as a liaison between field engineering and craft teams to ensure compliance with construction specifications and drawings.
  • Coordinate effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff, to maintain workflow and schedule compliance.
  • Address employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling challenges, keeping project and corporate management informed as necessary.
  • Assist in project scheduling, determining labor needs, material quantities, and equipment requirements. Manage contract administration and facilitate communication through subcontractor meetings.
  • Oversee monthly job cost updates, cash flow forecasts, and manage change orders.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to project rules, procedures, and safety standards, including workplace behavior policies.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel and relocate as required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction sector, with a focus on subcontractor management and oversight of craft crews.
  • Experience in semiconductor facilities is highly desirable, with knowledge in Piping, Electrical, and Architectural construction.
  • Advanced understanding of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and engineering documentation.
  • Proven ability to supervise and assess craft and subcontractor performance effectively.
  • Strong motivation and a commitment to excellence, with demonstrated leadership, negotiation, planning, and contract management skills.
  • Exemplary work ethic, with a focus on delivering quality results on the first attempt.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
