Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent to oversee our projects in the Boise, ID Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and uphold a safe working environment on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and implement the project plan and schedule while ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Supervise and coordinate all construction operations, including those of subcontractors.
- Create site-specific plans and procedures to be followed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that materials and workmanship align with project quality standards and design specifications.
- Gather essential information from engineers, designers, inspectors, and relevant authorities.
- Inform senior management of potential challenges, work disruptions, or scheduling conflicts while aiding in their resolution.
- Proactively identify and address project-related issues and scheduling challenges.
- Provide insights on budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Maintain a comprehensive daily job diary for the project.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Assistant Superintendent capacity.
- Relevant apprenticeship or experience in related trades.
- Thorough understanding of the construction sector and operational practices, including specifications, plans, materials, methods, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives on-site.
- Proven experience managing large subcontractor teams.
- Capacity to thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience in evaluating and guiding trade performance on-site.
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to construction challenges.
- Skilled in visualizing project scope and anticipating constructability issues, integrating solutions into plans and schedules.
- Experience in developing and monitoring critical paths within project schedules.
- Ability to schedule, track, and forecast resources for optimal efficiency.
- Knowledgeable in recognizing when to seek professional advice.
- Experience in managing personnel and overseeing various aspects of construction projects.
