Position Overview

The Project Engineer, also referred to as a Field Engineer, plays a crucial role within the project management team, collaborating closely with the project manager, project coordinator, and superintendent. This position encompasses a subset of the responsibilities typically associated with a Project Manager, serving as a foundational step towards advancing to a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager role. Candidates should possess a willingness to learn and adapt, embracing a variety of tasks. IMCO is currently engaged in a significant treatment plant project, with additional work planned in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project phases.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere among project team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with subcontractors, suppliers, design partners, and stakeholders.
  • Build strong internal relationships with company management, administrative staff, and craft management.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare written communications and reports as necessary.
  • Assist in managing project costs and schedules by implementing effective project controls.
  • Support pre-construction job setup and planning efforts.
  • Review, forward, and track the status of submittals and RFIs.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000, based on experience.
  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance available starting on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • 401(k) matching program available for eligible employees after 60 days of employment.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.

Location and Commitments

  • Project locations vary, with input from candidates considered.

Qualifications

  • Field Engineer: Minimum of 1 industry-related internship.
  • Project Engineer: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships within IMCO and with clients and partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • Technical proficiency and awareness to identify and address potential issues.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with traditional computer file/folder structures.
  • Experience with construction software, including HCSS Programs and Bluebeam, is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the construction field is recommended.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and criminal background checks are required.
