Cranberry Township is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time position as an Administrative Assistant focused on Recruitment within the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

This role is essential for delivering administrative assistance and managing the daily functions of the department and its personnel, which includes overseeing various grant programs.

Additionally, the individual will be tasked with supervising and facilitating the recruitment initiatives for the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company.

Key Knowledge Areas:
- Understanding of volunteer fire company operations, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with human resource management principles, especially in recruitment contexts.
- Proficiency in customer service standards.
- Knowledge of records management techniques and systems.
- Competence in clerical tasks, including word processing and file management.

Essential Skills:
- Proficient in data entry, typing, and the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn department-specific software.
- Capable of operating standard office machinery.

Required Abilities:
- Ability to foster effective communication and relationships with colleagues, external agencies, vendors, public officials, and the community, demonstrating courtesy and discretion.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by two years of experience in fire department operations and at least one year in an administrative capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:
An Associate's Degree in a relevant emergency services discipline (such as Fire Science or Emergency Management) and two years of experience in public processes related to volunteer fire companies are preferred.

Certifications:
Required:
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within four months of hire.
- Firefighter 2 within six months of hire.
- Fire Officer 1 within eighteen months of hire.
Preferred:
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
- Firefighter 2

Compensation and Benefits:
The approximate hourly wage for this position ranges from $21.50 to $23.50. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, along with a comprehensive deferred compensation plan.
