Job Summary:

The Accounting Associate at Mercury Broadband will provide critical support to the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. This role will involve processing invoices, gathering authorization, completing documentation, and reporting functions, as well as identifying fixed assets, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with other accounting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Support: Provide assistance to the accounting department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices for all entities, ensuring proper authorization and timely payment.
  • Fixed Assets: Process fixed assets for all entities, ensuring accurate reporting of depreciation and reconciliation of the fixed asset sub-ledger to the ledger.
  • Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations to the ledger for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Accounting Projects: Assist with various accounting projects, including data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Office Administration: Perform basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, and reporting.
  • Transaction Processing: Process transactions and update ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Documentation Verification: Verify the accuracy of documentation and balances, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Vendor and Customer Communication: Coordinate with departmental leaders to ensure proper authorization and timely payment, and respond to inquiries from vendors and customers.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school degree or equivalent, or Associates Degree or 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities, proficiency in bookkeeping programs and related software, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, high level of integrity and trustworthiness, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
