Position Overview

The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals is in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Permitting Specialist to collaborate with our esteemed clients and project teams. This role involves managing and securing permits for a diverse range of utility infrastructure initiatives across the United States.

Our projects encompass both linear and stand-alone facilities, including but not limited to natural gas and electric systems, as well as renewable energy generation and substations. The scope of work varies from rapid-response operations to extensive, multi-year projects characterized by intricate schedules and deadlines.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility to operate from various locations, including our corporate offices or a remote home office, catering to professionals who excel in a virtual work setting.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Environmental Permitting Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing a variety of utility infrastructure projects for clients operating nationwide.
  • Reviewing and preparing essential environmental permit applications for federal, state, and local authorizations, including but not limited to wetland, waterway, erosion control, and floodplain zoning.
  • Ensuring that clients and projects receive effective environmental guidance, successfully obtaining necessary permits and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinating with internal project teams and subcontractors to conduct field surveys, resource reviews, GIS deliverables, and other project-specific requirements.
  • Providing accurate schedule and cost estimates for project work and ensuring adherence to those expectations.
  • Collaborating with internal and external clients to uphold our reputation for excellence and integrity.
