Key Responsibilities

  1. Formulate and implement a detailed and long-term strategic vision for IT infrastructure and networking that aligns with Xcel's goals and prevailing industry trends.
  2. Guide the architecture and deployment of scalable and secure infrastructure, networking, and cloud solutions.
  3. Ensure that the IT infrastructure meets both current and future operational needs for infrastructure, networking, and cloud capabilities.
  4. Supervise the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network servers and systems.
  5. Establish and uphold rigorous security protocols to safeguard the organization's data and IT assets, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  6. Guarantee the stability, integrity, and efficient functioning of IT infrastructure and network services.
  7. Implement proactive monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance of existing infrastructure.
  8. Build, lead, and nurture a high-performing team of IT infrastructure and security professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  9. Effectively manage and inspire a cross-functional team in the execution of capital projects and operational tasks.
  10. Allocate resources efficiently across programs, projects, and operations to maximize performance.
  11. Develop and oversee the budget for Infrastructure and Network, maintaining high service delivery standards.
  12. Monitor and manage expenditures to align with the financial objectives of the organization.
  13. Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient resource management, vendor negotiations, and the adoption of new technologies.
  14. Communicate IT strategies, progress, and risks to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  15. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective services.
  16. Stay informed about industry standards and compliance requirements in a highly regulated environment.
  17. Validate disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure rapid recovery from disruptions.
  18. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential IT threats and vulnerabilities.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure and network management.
  3. At least 10 years of experience in leadership roles, with a minimum of 7 years in senior or executive leadership positions.
  4. A proven track record in the utilities sector or a similar field is highly desirable.
  5. Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking technologies, including servers, storage, networking, cloud services, and IT service management frameworks and tools.
