Job Summary:

Milestone Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our data center operations team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support for our data center infrastructure, including server and network hardware installation, cabling, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain server and network hardware, including copper and fiber-optic cabling.
  • Monitor and respond to hardware and software issues, utilizing industry-standard ticketing systems and providing clear, timely, and appropriate customer communications.
  • Participate in the change management process, including monitoring production and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Join an on-call rotation for after-hours support and be available to respond to critical issues.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in rack and stack, OS provisioning, and boot strapping network devices.
  • 1+ year of experience in basic Linux and scripting, including checking out repositories from GitHub and setting up Linux environments.
  • Experience with O365 software, DNS/DHCP, and ITSM/DCIM workflow management systems.
  • Working knowledge of Jira, server hardware (HP, Dell, Supermicro), and basic networking components and protocols (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).
  • Knowledge of data center practices, including fault tolerance, redundant cabling, and calculating power usage.
  • Able to manage server, switch, router, storage, and other hardware lifecycle processes.
  • Able to understand how to correctly and effectively run cabling, including power, Cat6, SM/MM fiber optic, and IB.
  • Strong cable management skills and experience running fiber and copper in a data center.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and cable infrastructure.
  • Certifications (preferred): CCNA, CCENT, CompTIA Server+, ITIL.
