Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Subsurface Utility Engineering Technician to join our team. As a SUE Technician, you will be responsible for conducting utility investigations, operating SUE equipment, and providing quality data and professional insight to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct utility investigations using SUE equipment, including pipe and cable locators and non-destructive vacuum excavation
- Operate tools and equipment to perform utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools
- Drive commercial motor vehicles, with a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Complete daily logs of work performed, including simple mathematics
- Perform daily basic vehicle maintenance
- Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities
- Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
- Ability to obtain a Secure Workers Access Card (SWAC)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all climates
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
- Good oral communication skills and attention to detail
- OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
- Prior utility-related experience is a plus
- Basic understanding of Highway/Utility plans is a plus, but not required
