About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at The Copper River Family of Companies. As a Patient Scheduling Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient appointment scheduling process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify Beneficiary Eligibility: Utilize the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) to verify beneficiary eligibility for Military Treatment Facility (MTF) primary or specialty care appointments.
  • Update Patient Demographic Information: Accurately update patient demographic information to ensure accurate scheduling and communication.
  • Schedule Beneficiary Requests: Schedule beneficiary requests for MTF primary or specialty care appointments, as well as complete requests for cancellations and appointment rescheduling.
  • Facilitate Outbound Calls: Complete outbound calls to facilitate the timely scheduling of specialty appointments in support of specialty referrals generated by an MTF Health Care Provider (HCP).
  • Coordinate Appointments: Schedule and coordinate appointments with other Puget Sound Military Health System (PSMHS) MTFs to meet beneficiary healthcare needs within TRICARE access standards.
  • Call Routing and Documentation: Ensure accurate call routing and documentation to maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Secure Messaging Support: Provide secure messaging support to ensure timely and accurate communication with patients and healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • Required Knowledge/Experience: Skilled in Word, Excel, Access, and other software programs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Ability to obtain clearance to access the work site located on a CSMHS military installation and be granted a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience: Healthcare administrative experience.
  • Training Requirements: Technical training focusing on systems architecture, mandatory system procedures, security requirements, and functional operating procedures to include patient appointing, referral management, and clear and legible reporting.
  • Work Hours: PAS services are performed from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays. All staff must have weekend availability as needed.
