About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to join our Workforce Planning team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role in driving the development and implementation of workforce planning strategies and tools that support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders in the Workforce Planning team to develop and implement workforce planning strategies and tools that support the growth and success of our business.
  • Work closely with Finance, HR, and business leadership to manage the creation of tools and processes that support the one- and three-year workforce plans in cadence with AWS' operational cycles.
  • Earn trust with internal stakeholders and customers, and develop collaborative solutions that create measurable economic impact on AWS.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of workforce planning methodologies, data sources, and practices to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify workforce planning processes.
  • Drive large-scale workforce planning programs that solve significantly complex or endemic problems.
  • Consistently bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgment to decisions.
  • Recognize when designs/solutions require additional technical guidance (e.g., from senior practitioners or subject matter experts).
  • Advocate for and guide workforce programs. Influence teams to dedicate resources, and lead the effort (or finds appropriate owner).
  • Capture the right metrics to influence stakeholders and measure success.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, engineering, I/O psychology, mathematics, economics, or related field, and 6+ years of domain experience.
  • Experience setting technical requirements for process automation and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, expertise in deriving insights through data analysis, practical knowledge and experience in inferential statistical application.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to dive deep into the data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders and cross-functional colleagues.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment by combining analytical rigor and judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong commitment to exceptional customer experience, enthusiasm to drive positive change and ability to persuade.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (ability to present detailed technical analysis, assumptions, and recommendations succinctly).
  • Application of data mining/machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with making large scale optimization and predictive models.
  • Experience with compensation data, financial analysis, and opex budgeting.
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles and functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
