About the Role

The Regional Senior Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing and supporting plant discussions and investigations to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and environmental performance. This involves analyzing data, conducting field measurements, and performing process-related audits to diagnose issues and develop solutions. The successful candidate will support and assist the plant in achieving greater performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Health and Safety initiatives in accordance with regional and plant priorities, making positive contributions to the plants' safety activities and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and participate in the improvement of the Plant's technical capabilities, with a focus on process optimization.
  • Initiate process optimization in collaboration with Quality, Production, and Maintenance to ensure maximum and efficient utilization of the plant's equipment.
  • Elevate the technical knowledge and practices of all facets of the operation, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Analyze equipment/system performance, document findings, and propose solutions for improvements.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and targets, training and coaching operation personnel to apply them consistently.
  • Provide technical support to the plant's production, quality, and environmental functions, understanding strategies, priorities, and optimization techniques that assist the plant in achieving plant and company objectives.
  • Evaluate operations, processes, and trends through the use of audits and systematic approaches, monitoring the performance and optimizing the operation of High Level Control Systems (HLC).
  • Promote the increased use of Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials, providing comprehensive technical expertise to evaluate AFR with respect to their impact on the process, developing and implementing solutions to eliminate/reduce impact of AFR on the process operation.
  • Provide technical support on the implementation of new equipment and/or new procedures, including training of plant personnel as required, serving as a coach/mentor in process and other departments.
  • Conduct economic and operational feasibility studies on proposed modifications and/or additions, commissioning and de-bottlenecking new installations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of cement plant experience.
  • PREFERRED: Holcim Process Performance Engineer certification.
  • REQUIRED: Strong computer expertise in SAP, TIS, HLC, and Microsoft Office.
  • Travel requirements: up to 50% national travel.
Additional Requirements
  • Cement Process engineering experience.
  • Experience managing technology development and pilot projects.
  • Experience working in process industries, e.g. cement, power generation, oil and gas.
  • Strong problem identification and solving, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dynamic and innovative approach.
  • Able to successfully manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build strategic working relationships within the company and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
