At Martin Marietta, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cement Plant Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the cement manufacturing process, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain complex equipment, including roller mills, kilns, coolers, and finish mills, to optimize production and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and analyze process variables, such as temperatures, pressures, and amp gauges, to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate activities of operating personnel and assign routine and non-routine work to ensure smooth production operations.
- Communicate effectively with lab personnel to ensure quality products and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain accurate records of kiln and auxiliary equipment performance and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Superintendent, including working in high-temperature environments and handling explosives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cement production and thorough knowledge of the kiln process.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows, Excel, and Wonderware applications.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
