Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to join our team at ITW. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing production operations to ensure that production targets and customer expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to the production leadership team and coordinate operations to ensure that production targets and customer expectations are met.
  • Responsible for continues improvement and decreasing conversion costs for the assigned product line.
  • Lead, motivate and develop employees to achieve outstanding results according to set targets through enhancing teamwork, effective communications, engaged listening, and change management.
  • Hold accountability and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Determine requirements for operational labor needs, equipment, and make changes/recommendation as needed for assigned operational line.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational and manufacturing problems to minimize expenses and prevent operational delays.
  • Attend and/or facilitate weekly meetings regarding operations and planning.
  • Builds and sustains a culture where people are our most important asset - Team members are highly engaged, clearly understand the Company/Plant Vision, and are valued for their contributions to their work and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with team members to achieve results.
  • Drives accountability and compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards by effectively communicating expectations and changes to teams.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of core business and manufacturing processes and prioritizes direction based upon business/plant need and strategy.
  • Champions new ideas and encourages team members to try new approaches to solve key operational issues.
  • Plans production operations, establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing products by reviewing daily reports and establishing goals.
  • Responsible for product line P&L including profit margin goals and process improvements.
  • Inspires and coaches salaried management team and hourly team members.
  • Identifies and develops future leadership and improves/supports overall bench strength.
  • Consistently makes good decisions regarding recruitment, promotion, and assessment.
  • Resolve employee complaints, conduct investigations and issue coaching or discipline in accordance with company policy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years leadership experience, preferably in a large manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in food equipment is an asset.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Project management.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Communication - verbal and written - must be able to deliver presentations.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards, and OHSA.
