ROLE SUMMARY:

We are in search of a committed and collaborative Senior Manager of Post Production to spearhead and manage all facets of the post-production process. This position will involve not only the technical aspects of film editing but also the daily oversight and support of our talented team of Editors, Colorists, Sound Editors, and Composers. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in narrative film editing, a comprehensive understanding of post-production workflows, and exceptional time management skills in a dynamic production environment, with a keen focus on optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and implementing processes and workflows that empower team members to excel while accelerating time to market and minimizing post-production expenses.
  • Overseeing post-production operations, budgets, and workflows, while collaborating with the team to uphold quality standards in branded storytelling.
  • Managing a robust pipeline of projects, ensuring multiple high-priority assignments progress smoothly through various post-production stages.
  • Ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly departmental workloads and budgets are managed effectively and efficiently according to project priorities.
  • Assigning, scheduling, and monitoring all editing tasks, anticipating post-production needs, and maintaining organized file management.
  • Providing support to both Production and Post Production teams to guarantee timely project deliveries.
  • Creating innovative solutions to workflow challenges to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Recruiting and hiring forward-thinking post-production talent to revolutionize our processes in a digital-first environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all technical aspects of post-production, including editing, color grading, VFX, composing, and sound editing.
  • Significant experience managing budgets in various low-budget contexts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management role within post-production.
  • Thorough understanding of production and post-production workflows, with a focus on driving efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Extensive proficiency in Premiere Pro, Adobe Suite, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience managing cloud storage and Frame IO accounts; familiarity with NAS servers is a plus.
  • Ability to implement automation using off-the-shelf software or no-code solutions is advantageous.
  • Interest in the evolving AI landscape and its applications in enhancing efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information accurately and professionally.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to undertake any necessary tasks to support the team.

SUPERVISION:

The Senior Manager of Post Production will report directly to the Production Director.

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

This role involves overseeing the Post Production Team alongside the Post Production Junior Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Senior Manager of Post Production will operate from our production facilities and will be required to utilize time tracking software for logging work hours.
