POSITION OVERVIEW
Respond to and address guest repair inquiries. Engage with guests to resolve maintenance challenges with minimal supervision. Conduct preventive upkeep on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, or machinery. Carry necessary equipment (e.g., tools, communication devices). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as necessary.

Ensure that daily activities and issues are communicated to other shifts using established communication protocols and standards.

Exhibit advanced proficiency in interpreting standard blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems. Demonstrate above-average engineering operational skills and strong general mechanical aptitude.

Exhibit proficiency in at least three of the following areas, above-average skills in three additional areas, and basic skills in the remaining categories:

air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.

Show solid knowledge and skill in the safe operation of hand and power tools and other materials necessary for repair and maintenance tasks.

Safely execute complex repairs on the physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and pool heaters—ensuring all methods, materials, and practices comply with company standards and local and national regulations—with minimal supervision.

Troubleshoot and perform repairs on various equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacements), plumbing (e.g., unclogging drains), electrical devices including lamps, air conditioning units, HVAC systems, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and program televisions.

Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system prior to performing any maintenance tasks.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of all engineering software related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such software.

Conduct advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Display the ability to train and mentor fellow engineers as required. Exhibit capability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Adhere to all company and safety policies and procedures; report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and safeguard company assets.

Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express gratitude to guests with genuine appreciation.

Uphold quality expectations and standards.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.

Navigate stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Access and locate work-related information using computers. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with vocational or technical training.

Related Work Experience:

Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, parts inventory management, and surface preparation and painting.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance.

Supervisory Experience:
No supervisory experience required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

License or Certification:
Valid Driver's License
Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
