ROLE OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering and must possess a comprehensive understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems. This hands-on role requires active involvement in the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of hotel facilities. Building trust and transparent relationships with fellow team members is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a positive working environment through teamwork and mutual respect
  • Oversee the maintenance of all equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components, HVAC, plumbing, and furnishings
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Ensure familiarity with safety systems and take necessary actions to address any operational issues
  • Participate in preventative maintenance initiatives
  • Utilize your skills to identify equipment malfunctions and collaborate with supervisors for effective solutions
  • Maintain the physical integrity of the establishment and its furnishings
  • Adhere to departmental policies and participate in training and meetings
  • Assist with the transport and setup of new equipment as needed
  • Respond promptly to guest requests with professionalism
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance; hotel engineering experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing certifications are advantageous
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is preferred
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
