Position Title: Didactic Academic Assistant

Department: School of Physician Assistant Studies

Job Overview:

The University of Florida's School of Physician Assistant Studies is in search of a Didactic Academic Assistant to enhance the educational experience within the program.

This role collaborates closely with the Director of Didactic Education and the Academic Services Manager to provide essential support for the first-year curriculum and various administrative functions across the academic spectrum.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Didactic Support: Organize semester schedules and liaise with lecturers for first-year courses, including the coordination of learning activities, examinations, and related events.
  • Data Management: Oversee student information and materials using electronic databases and relevant software.
  • Credentialing Coordination: Manage student credentialing processes required for the didactic year.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about policies, regulations, and procedures pertinent to students and academic programs.
  • Academic Administration: Facilitate student registration and conduct evaluations for academic courses and faculty.
  • Grade Management: Input first-year student grades into the grading system, process grade changes, and assist with administrative tasks for second-year students.
  • Supply Management: Procure laboratory supplies necessary for student use.
  • Faculty Assistance: Support faculty in course preparation and management as required.
  • Record Maintenance: Keep electronic student and program records updated.
  • Event Coordination: Organize orientation for new classes and assist with other departmental events as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Aid in processing fees, invoices, and travel requests, and take minutes during meetings when requested.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent with three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and familiarity with registration and grading systems.
