Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students, providing guidance and resources to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, degree planning, and career exploration.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with departmental staff to develop and implement academic programs and services that promote student success.
- Monitor student progress and provide early intervention and support to students who are struggling academically.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student retention and graduation rates.
- Stay current with university policies and procedures, as well as best practices in academic advising.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
- Experience with academic advising software and technology.
