Role Overview:
Student Guidance: Provide comprehensive advising to students on academic prerequisites, institutional policies, available resources, and suitable course selections aligned with their career goals. Conduct individual consultations to assist students in choosing relevant minors or certificates, resolving degree-related concerns, and ensuring they meet graduation requirements. Monitor students on academic probation and collaborate with faculty to develop recovery strategies. Manage student petitions and major change requests in accordance with institutional deadlines. Partner with external academic coordinators for statewide programs and maintain accurate student records.
Recruitment and Outreach: Collaborate with the program director to formulate an annual recruitment strategy and budget. Develop promotional materials and coordinate campus tours for prospective students. Represent the program at career fairs and educational events, promoting opportunities within the program and related majors. Organize recruitment activities and create engaging content for digital platforms to enhance program visibility.
Administrative Responsibilities: Support the program director and committee in administrative tasks. Liaise with departmental schedulers to ensure timely course offerings for students. Compile reports on student performance and maintain connections with industry partners to facilitate internship opportunities. Assist in managing program resources and tracking incoming student data.
Awards and Recognition: Facilitate scholarship nominations and communicate opportunities to students. Maintain records of scholarships and awards for program participants.
Additional Responsibilities: Duties may vary based on program needs, including assistance with recruitment initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field with one year of experience, or a bachelor's degree with two years of experience in a related area.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data management. Experience with learning management systems, strong communication skills, and a background in plant sciences or related fields are highly desirable.
