Position Overview:

The Academic Program Specialist I serves as the Academic Coordinator for the PharmD program, collaborating closely with faculty and the instructional design team to ensure effective course delivery. This role provides essential logistical support, general student guidance, and oversight of course learning and assessment activities from an educational perspective. The incumbent acts as a primary liaison between faculty and students, facilitating communication with a diverse range of stakeholders, including college administrators, faculty, students, and staff. Responsibilities include building exams using the ExamSoft platform and distributing all exam materials. The position requires effective communication with remote campuses to guarantee consistent course delivery across multiple locations. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for managing competing deadlines and maintaining records of student professionalism, attendance, and performance across courses. The role necessitates collaborative participation as a team member, contributing to team responsibilities, and demonstrating initiative in addressing new challenges or problems, while recognizing when input from others is needed and solving issues with appropriate oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Course Delivery Coordination: Support the Assistant Dean of Curricular Affairs by submitting required textbook information by deadlines. Assist instructional designers in placing course activities on the e-Learning system and finalizing/maintaining syllabi on the college website. Maintain the gradebook and collaborate with course leaders to monitor student performance. Serve as the first point of contact for students regarding general course logistics and perform other duties related to course delivery support. Classroom and Assessment Management: Responsible for the creation, preparation, administration, and oversight of all classroom materials and activities, including assessments, quizzes, and examinations. Enter all quizzes and exams into ExamSoft and/or Canvas. Coordinate the administration of examinations and proctor graded assessments. Ensure timely transmission of all teaching materials and exams to remote campuses. Administrative Reporting and Documentation: Assist in compiling administrative reports and documentation, as well as collecting or compiling data.

Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree that includes educational coursework such as curriculum and instruction and two years of relevant experience. Familiarity with University of Florida policies and procedures is preferred. Experience with learning management systems and educational programs is also desirable.
