Lead Materials Artist

Pipeworks Studios is on the lookout for a talented Senior Materials Artist to become a vital part of our creative team, contributing to a thrilling AAA game project. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting top-notch materials and textures utilizing Substance Designer, aimed at elevating the visual quality of the game's environments and assets. You will work closely with the Project Art Director and the artistic team to ensure that all materials align with both artistic vision and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop materials for various projects as needed
- Collaborate with the Project Art Director to define project needs
- Investigate and apply innovative techniques
- Coordinate with other departments as required
- Engage with artists and engineers to meet project objectives
- Provide solutions to challenges that arise during the project
- Proficient in Maya and/or 3ds Max
- Experience in crafting environment textures using Substance Designer
- Comprehension of the distinction between design and artistic tasks
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine (experience with Unity is a plus)
- Excellent communication abilities
- Capability to provide precise time estimates for tasks
- Ability to produce both realistic and stylized materials
- General skills in 3D modeling and design
- Degree or certification in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a comparable position
