Senior Materials Artist

Pipeworks Studios is on the lookout for a talented Senior Materials Artist to become a vital part of our creative team, contributing to a thrilling AAA project. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing top-notch materials and textures utilizing Substance Designer, aimed at elevating the visual quality of the game's environments and assets. You will work closely with the Project Art Director and the art team to ensure that all materials align with both artistic vision and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop materials for various projects as needed
  • Collaborate with the Project Art Director to understand project needs
  • Investigate and apply innovative techniques
  • Coordinate with other departments as required
  • Work alongside artists and engineers to meet project objectives
  • Engage in problem-solving to enhance project outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Maya and/or Max
  • Experience in crafting environment textures with Substance Designer
  • Comprehension of the distinction between design and art tasks
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine (Unity experience is a plus)
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Capability to provide precise time estimates
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to produce both realistic and stylized materials
  • General skills in 3D work
Education & Experience:
  • Degree or certification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a comparable position
