Job Overview

The position entails overseeing and reconciling payroll and employee benefit transactions, maintaining comprehensive records of loans, and addressing inquiries related to loan transactions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and reconcile payroll general ledger entry files.
  • Reconcile entries related to employee benefits.
  • Maintain a detailed listing of Loans Held for Investment (LHFI) and Non-Performing Loans.
  • Address and manage requests for buyouts, repurchased loans, and modifications.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and extraordinary items.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all LoanCare inquiries and research.
  • Prepare sub-servicing entries and lead subsequent investigations.
  • Calculate and document interest due on LHFI and Loans Held for Sale portfolios.
  • Prepare invoice allocation entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts effectively.
  • Manage transfers for cash accounts, including payroll, 401K, and delinquent investor accounts.
  • Assist with wire transfer processes.
  • Handle remote deposit checks and accounting correspondence.
  • Reconcile operating cash accounts on a daily basis.
  • Provide support for accounts payable and process check payments.
  • Prepare annual 1099 reports and ensure filing with relevant state and federal agencies.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in managing financial and numerical data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting standards.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting systems, including LOS and compensation systems, preferably FISERV – Prologue, nCino – Compensafe, and Ice Mortgage – Encompass.
  • Prior experience in accounting within the mortgage or banking industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of loan servicing and reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with a keen attention to detail to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or progress towards a degree.
  • Alternatively, relevant accounting work experience.
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee must communicate effectively in verbal form. The employee should be capable of operating a keyboard proficiently. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and lift or move up to 10-15 pounds. Close vision is necessary for this position.
