Position Overview

As a Senior Accounting Specialist at Taylor Morrison, you will engage in professional accounting tasks that encompass the examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records along with related responsibilities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including intercompany and bank accounts, to maintain financial integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the annual budget and quarterly updates to support financial planning.
  • Contribute to the monthly analysis and reporting of financial statements to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Support biweekly payroll processing, including sales commissions, to ensure timely compensation.
  • Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Assist internal and external auditors as necessary to facilitate audits.
  • Be open to performing additional duties as assigned to support the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices.
  • Experience in homebuilding or job costing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Report to the Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to the established schedule.
  • Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device.
  • Engage in face-to-face conversations with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and navigate the work environment as needed.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
