Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting tasks within our dynamic Accounting Department, collaborating with team members to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze financial data, providing detailed insights into assets, liabilities, and capital structure.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare accurate entries for general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare meticulous General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts with all related entities.
  • Maintain and update accounting journals, ledgers, and records detailing all financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
  • Provide valuable support during tax audits and the preparation of tax returns.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Play a key role in the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Assess internal controls, including conducting risk assessments and reviewing potential risk areas.
  • Prepare payroll entries and reconciliations with accuracy.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules diligently.
  • Take on other tasks as assigned by the Controller, including special projects.
  • Supervise accounting staff to ensure efficient workflow and team performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Experience with government contracts is a valuable asset.
Education, Formal Training, and Experience
  • Master's degree in Accounting is required.
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
  • CPA license is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential for success in this role.

This role primarily involves sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods. The employee regularly communicates orally and operates office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and printers. The position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
