Job Summary

Pritchard Industries is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on various systems and equipment to ensure the building operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
  • Conduct safety checks on equipment and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain engine rooms, mechanical spaces, and utility closets in a clean and organized manner.
  • Respond to emergency situations and take remedial action to prevent damage to equipment and its occupants.
  • Complete work assignments efficiently and effectively, meeting the objective of maintaining equipment at an elevated level of operating efficiency.
  • Work overtime as needed to deliver projects on time.
  • Climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on domestic lavatory fixtures and components.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school graduate or completion of an approved trade apprenticeship program in commercial heating/ventilation/air conditioning and building management controls.
  • State of Connecticut D-1 Limited warm air, air conditioning, and refrigeration contractor license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in building maintenance or a related trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to generate and process work on a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience in HVAC repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Basic Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Wall patching, and Painting skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of power tools.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and write legibly and understand English.
