Reports To: Facilities Manager
Direct Reports: None
Compensation: Up to $15.00 per hour
Objective: To execute a range of cleaning tasks essential for the upkeep and functionality of the Museum facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and replenish all restroom facilities on a daily basis.
- Prepare studios and meeting spaces according to the instructors' requirements as outlined in the schedule. This includes changing paper coverings, arranging chairs, easels, and other furnishings, mopping floors, and cleaning sinks as necessary.
- Empty all trash receptacles throughout the building each day.
- Replace any burnt-out light bulbs as required.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs in lobbies, galleries, and offices, performing spot cleaning as needed.
- Dust-mop or sweep all floors in the building as necessary.
- Wash windows and glass doors on a daily basis.
- Polish stainless steel elevators weekly or as needed.
- Wet mop all floors as necessary and refinish as directed.
- Set up and dismantle event furniture according to the calendar and specifications in Event Orders.
- Conduct snow removal on stairs and entrance areas; shovel and apply ice melt as necessary.
- Deliver packages from the mailroom to staff across the facility.
- Assist staff with the movement and arrangement of office furniture.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge: General understanding of maintenance procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Capability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 8 feet.
- Ability to navigate stairs.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in dirty or dusty environments and/or outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Professional interaction with all levels of staff and the public.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives.
Education: Basic reading and math skills required.
Experience: Up to one year in a similar role preferred.
Special Requirements:
Hepatitis B Vaccination or Waiver.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the Museum's various events operating seven days a week.
Physical Exam required.
