Position Overview

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer PE I:

The Mechanical Engineer PE I employs established engineering principles to design, assess, test, maintain, repair, or enhance products, components, or assemblies.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Signing and sealing engineering documentation.
  • Analyzing, developing, and assessing systems.
  • Enhancing and sustaining existing systems or initiating new projects.
  • Creating and drafting technical blueprints, conducting site visits, and overseeing project management.
  • Utilizing engineering techniques and analyses relevant to the assignment.
  • Performing tasks under general supervision.
  • Addressing complex challenges and escalating only the most intricate issues to senior staff.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
  • Reports To: Engineering Director

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Professional Engineer License (PE).
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of the subject matter.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Computer literacy and technical expertise.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple ongoing projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent multitasking capabilities, with readiness to undertake tasks beyond the standard scope when necessary.

Travel Requirements:

5-10% of the time may involve travel to job sites or office locations.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
  • Climbing stairs and maneuvering in various positions to complete tasks in diverse environments, including confined spaces.
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
  • Working in a noisy environment.
  • Engaging in light to heavy physical work, including adjusting and/or moving objects of varying weights.
