About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our hardware engineering team, you will be responsible for the development of mechanical, structural, optical, thermal, and electronic systems and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development of viable thermal and structural solutions for systems and components.
  • Utilize relevant analytic tools for thermal and structural analysis, including Finite Element Modeling (FEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis.
  • Create and correlate analytical models to provide guidance for product development.
  • Perform performance, structural, and thermal tests and measurements.
  • Report and document product structural and thermal performance.
  • Assess design merits with regard to product specification and reliability.
  • Collaborate with materials and parts suppliers to source plastics, composites, wrought and cast metals, ceramics, additive materials, fans, blowers, heat-sinks, and thermal interface materials.

Requirements:

  • BS + 6-8 years or MS + 4-6 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) and thermal analysis.
  • Thermal/Mechanical testing experience.
  • Fluid System Analysis experience.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Siemens SimCenter 3D Thermal.
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis experience.
  • 1D Fluid Network Analysis experience.
