Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Advanced Threat Warning System (ATWS) program area, you will be responsible for designing precision mechanical and opto-mechanical prototype, production, and test hardware in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptual and detailed mechanical design, tolerance analyses, and performing trade studies
  • Creation and initial release of 2D and 3D engineering models and documentation
  • Coordination with other engineering and production disciplines for change notices and drawing revisions
  • Support of system and subassembly level test planning and execution
  • Production nonconformance Material Review Board (MRB) disposition
  • Coordination and support for outside suppliers
  • Presentations at Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Design Assurance Reviews (DARs), and other internal and external customer reviews
Requirements
  • Precision mechanical / opto-mechanical design experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer)
  • Experience with developing and interpreting GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with PTC Windchill
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities
  • Occasional overtime may be required
  • Experience on SAR programs/contracts
  • Experience with lab and flight integration and test support
