Head of Growth Marketing

Gauntlet stands at the forefront of quantitative analysis and decentralized finance (DeFi) economic enhancement, focusing on risk management, growth support, and ensuring the financial stability of significant DeFi protocols. Our operations encompass over $43 billion in client assets, fostering innovation and resilience in the swiftly changing decentralized finance sector.
With a diverse team of more than 60 experts and the backing of prominent investors, Gauntlet embraces a remote-first culture, with a notable presence in major urban centers. Our objective is to maximize risk-adjusted returns in DeFi, equipping protocols, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and on-chain treasuries with state-of-the-art economic research and quantitative methodologies.
The Growth Marketing Lead (also referred to as Degen Marketer) will take charge of developing and implementing our marketing initiatives across various platforms, propelling the growth of both Gauntlet and Aera. This role involves collaboration with Product, Business Development, and external stakeholders to ensure our market entry strategies are effective and aligned with our overarching business goals.
Your primary responsibility will be to stimulate demand across essential sectors and broaden our brand's visibility through strategic alliances and events. This position is vital for our ongoing success as we expand into both established and emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities- Demand Generation: Create, execute, and refine strategies to drive demand for Aera and other categories where Gauntlet is active, such as perpetuals and (re)staking.
- Market Entry Strategy: Partner with Product teams to define and implement collaborative strategies that align with Gauntlet's evolving objectives.
- Partner Marketing & Events: Enhance Gauntlet's visibility by overseeing partner marketing initiatives and engaging in significant industry events.
- Performance Evaluation: Assess and optimize marketing campaigns to enhance key performance indicators such as conversion rates, engagement, and return on investment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Product, and Content, to ensure marketing efforts align with broader organizational objectives.
- Experience: 5-7 years in growth marketing, with a strong emphasis on the crypto and fintech sectors. Demonstrated success in managing and executing marketing strategies.
- Crypto Savvy: Profound understanding and active involvement in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, particularly within DeFi and ideally DAOs.
- Analytical & Strategic: Excellent analytical abilities with the capacity to extract actionable insights from data. Familiarity with A/B testing and marketing analytics tools is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Skill in translating complex technical concepts into engaging marketing narratives.
- Self-Motivated & Driven: Independent worker capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Organized & Effective Communicator: Strong project management capabilities coupled with exceptional communication skills across both business and technical discussions.
- Experience in consumer fintech or Web3/DeFi.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to engage and persuade diverse audiences.

The national pay range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000, with additional On Target Earnings potential based on level and equity in the company. Our salary ranges are designed to be competitive for a company of our size and industry, and are one aspect of the comprehensive compensation, benefits, and rewards we offer. Individual pay rate decisions are influenced by various factors, including role qualifications, experience level, skill set, and internal equity considerations.
