About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Hybrid Associate Portfolio Manager / Risk Control professional. This role will be based in Nashville and will be a key member of our Multi Asset and Hedge Fund Solutions (MA HFS) Risk Management and Associate Portfolio Management Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement investment decisions for separately managed accounts and funds, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
  • Monitor portfolio positioning, trade executions, cash management, and compliance with client guidelines, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Adjust funds within a strategy to align with the manager's targets, utilizing analytical skills and market knowledge.
  • Address client requests and manage events throughout the client's lifecycle, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Liaise with other departments, including Portfolio Management, Research, Legal and Compliance, Sales and Marketing, Trading, and Operations, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Project-based initiatives related to process improvement and implementing new strategies, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Actively manage the error/incident resolution process objectively and in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Partner with portfolio managers, associate portfolio managers, or MAS Trading to cover market exposure due to trading or client account errors, providing support and guidance.
  • Coordinate calls between interested parties to conduct root cause analysis of material breaches in procedure, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Escalation and notification to Sr. Management, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Liaise with Client Servicing group regarding the impact to client accounts and with Fund Administration group regarding the impact to funds and establishing necessary levels of communication.
  • Assist business and risk management with the development of remediation efforts, driving process improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Work with senior risk management professionals to highlight significant areas of concern and required action, ensuring proactive risk management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in operational risk or process management.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail, utilizing data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in groups, driving results and achieving goals.
  • Team player who is able to work in a global team, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
  • Intermediate level understanding of the financial markets, with knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Basic coding skills in technologies such as Python and SQL, with the ability to apply technical skills to business problems.
  • Advanced Excel/Powerpoint / Power BI skills, with the ability to create complex reports and presentations.
