Role Overview: This pivotal position within the Governance and Controls Program Office emphasizes expertise in second line of defense (LOD2) risk initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with LOD2 to fully understand risk program specifications, ensuring that the Governance and Control Office (GCO) is adeptly structured to fulfill those requirements. The consultant will be responsible for establishing processes that ensure GCO consistently meets regulatory and operational standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Engage with LOD2 risk program leaders to grasp expectations for GCO teams and provide insights on feasibility.
  • Oversee the adaptation of GCO roles and responsibilities, ensuring appropriate approvals and effective execution.
  • Formulate and uphold GCO risk program policies in alignment with LOD2 standards and facilitate training for team members.
  • Manage the resolution of issues pertaining to GCO.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs, providing necessary challenges for updates and participating in relevant working groups.
  • Offer recommendations for policy enhancements and collaborate with business leaders and risk partners.
  • Deliver presentations in leadership forums and mentor team members.

Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of eight years of experience in risk management. A robust understanding of diverse risk categories and exceptional leadership and communication skills are imperative. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to travel occasionally are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Finance or a relevant field, along with advanced risk certifications such as FRM or CFA.
