Role Overview: This pivotal position within the Governance and Controls Program Office is dedicated to serving as an expert in second line of defense (LOD2) risk initiatives. The role involves close collaboration with LOD2 to understand the requirements of risk programs, ensuring that the Governance and Control Office (GCO) is effectively structured to fulfill those demands. You will be tasked with executing processes that ensure GCO consistently meets regulatory and operational standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with LOD2 risk program leaders to gain insights into expectations for GCO teams and provide feedback on feasibility.
  • Oversee the management of evolving GCO roles and responsibilities, ensuring appropriate approvals and effective execution.
  • Formulate and uphold GCO risk program policies that align with LOD2 standards while training team members accordingly.
  • Supervise the resolution of issues under GCO's purview.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs, providing necessary challenges for updates and participating in relevant working groups.
  • Offer recommendations for policy enhancements and collaborate with business leaders and risk stakeholders.
  • Deliver presentations in leadership forums and mentor team members.

Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of eight years of experience in risk management. A strong understanding of diverse risk categories along with exceptional leadership and communication abilities are critical. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to travel occasionally are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Finance or a related field, along with advanced risk certifications such as FRM or CFA.
