Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and scheduling of patients, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients and obtain accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information
- Screen customer data to ensure patient eligibility for insurance and communicate differences to the customer
- Assist in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicable
- Establish and maintain open communication with various departments and clinical staff
- Assist in the shadowing and precepting of new employees
- High school graduate, Associate's Degree preferred
- One-year previous healthcare experience preferred
- CPR certification (based on position and as determined by manager)
This role requires occasional squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds. The employee will also be exposed to biohazard waste and loud noises.
