Job Summary

The Kansas City Royals Baseball Club LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Program Manager, Crown Schools and Entrepreneurial Programs. This role will be responsible for developing and executing all tasks and duties associated with the Crown Schools program, as well as managing the entrepreneurial program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crown Schools
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive program to support the growth and development of Crown Schools, including programmatic activities, stakeholder relations, monitoring and evaluation, and budget management.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Crown Schools program, building and maintaining relationships with key partners, including area schools, school districts, local leagues, and churches.
    • Deepen the impact of the program by growing the number of schools and increasing programmatic activities.
    • Conduct programmatic monitoring and evaluation, including assessing feedback from student surveys, to ensure optimal execution and impact.
    • Coordinate field trips, maintain a positive relationship with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and ensure that branded promotional items are available for students.
    • Manage special events, including field days, and promote programming opportunities hosted by the Urban Youth Academy to Crown Schools.
    • Collaborate with teams within the Community Impact Department to enhance education and literacy initiatives.
    • Maintain relationships with USA Baseball and oversee the MLB THE SHOW program.
  • Entrepreneurial Program
    • Develop and execute a program that offers students opportunities to enhance their entrepreneurial, business, and leadership skills, including within the industries of sport and baseball/softball.
    • Ensure the entrepreneurial program is seamlessly integrated into the Urban Youth Academy.
    • Provide mentorship and support to participants to develop their business and leadership skills.
    • Oversee and manage all entrepreneurial opportunities, including the management of the concession stand and other student-led projects.
    • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community leaders to provide additional opportunities for students.
    • Ensure all necessary materials and resources are available for the successful execution of the program.
    • Recruit, matriculate, and develop participants in the entrepreneurial program.
    Requirements
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as communications, public relations, marketing, business, or sports administration.
    • 5 years of experience in curriculum development, program management, or a related field.
    • Strong work ethic, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent relationship-building skills.
    • Knowledge of the Kansas City educational system and MLB landscape is an asset.
    • Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and events.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Clover Management, and League Apps.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Must be able to be productive using a computer keyboard and telephone.
    • Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level can be high at times.
    • Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as required by deadlines and event scheduling.
