POSITION LOCATION: Green Bay, WI

ROLE OVERVIEW: The Clinical Educator is tasked with the design, execution, and assessment of student learning experiences in the advanced pharmacology curriculum.

KEY CLARIFICATIONS:

  • Typically, Clinical Educators are non-ranked faculty members.
  • Engagement is on a temporary, "as needed" basis, with a commitment to maintain a teaching schedule for at least one assignment annually.
  • No restrictions exist on the duration of adjunct status.
  • Selection is conducted by the Associate Dean of Nursing in conjunction with the Graduate Nursing Program Director and APRN Program Coordinators.
  • Annual evaluations are performed by the Graduate Nursing Program Director, incorporating feedback from relevant parties.
  • Current adjunct faculty with prior ranked experience may bypass interviews for regular faculty roles if they have maintained their professional competencies.
  • Adjunct faculty are eligible to apply for open faculty positions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively support the College's mission and values.
  • Adhere to the established course syllabus and timeline.
  • Collaborate with fellow faculty members teaching the APRN core courses.
  • Facilitate the educational process in the pharmacology domain.
  • Provide mentorship to students as required.
  • Communicate significant changes or concerns regarding student performance to the APRN Program Coordinators or Graduate Nursing Program Director.
  • Assist in student assessments and evaluations.
  • Engage in structured evaluations of courses and programs.
  • Contribute to college-wide initiatives aimed at continuous quality enhancement.
  • Uphold professional confidentiality.
  • Foster positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support various projects as assigned or deemed appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Licensure: The Wisconsin Code and accreditation standards necessitate that faculty:

  • Possess a doctorate in nursing or a related discipline such as Pharm D, MD, or DO.
  • Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License or equivalent in the State of Wisconsin or a Licensure Compact state.
  • Demonstrate competency in educational principles, curriculum development, and clinical practice relevant to their assignment.
  • APRN faculty must maintain current licensure and national certification within their population focus and possess clinical expertise in their subject area.

Experience:

  • APRN faculty should have a minimum of one year of advanced practice experience in their area of focus and maintain an active APRN practice.
  • Non-APRN nursing faculty must have at least two years of full-time or equivalent direct care experience as a practicing Pharm D, MS, or DO.
  • Experience with online learning methodologies is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Possess knowledge and skills pertinent to the teaching area (pharmacology).
  • Demonstrate competency in applying educational principles in teaching, curriculum development, and evaluation.
  • Ability to implement teaching and learning principles effectively.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, including group process and counseling principles.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including word processing and email.
  • Exhibit strong leadership capabilities, including organizational skills, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to collaborate with students to enhance their learning experience.
