Sales Director of Large Group Sales

As the Sales Director of Large Group Sales, you will lead the property's large group sales team's sales efforts, reporting to the Vice President of Sales. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts, sharing responsibility for achieving revenue goals, guest, and associate satisfaction. You will implement the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process, providing day-to-day leadership oversight to the on-property and remote sales associates. Your focus will be on building long-term, luxury customer relationships that enable achievement of the property's sales objectives. You will maintain ultimate accountability for verifying that the team maximizes revenue opportunities by up-selling and accurately forecasting revenues (e.g., catering and group rooms) for all events. You will adhere to all Company, safety, and departmental policies and procedures, fostering teamwork and providing excellent guest service. You will anticipate guest needs to exceed guest expectations, building brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the large group sales team's sales efforts
- Manage the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts
- Implement the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives
- Provide day-to-day leadership oversight to the on-property and remote sales associates
- Build long-term, luxury customer relationships
- Maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and accurately forecasting revenues
- Demonstrated skills supervising a luxury hotel group sales team, preferably with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience
- Marriott luxury brand experience preferred
- Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes
- Strong customer and relationship management skills
- Knowledge and interpretation of Sales reports and forecasting revenues
- Possesses excellent telephone sales skills
- Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications
- Experience implementation of successful Sales strategies
- Effective decision-making skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect departments
- Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems including CI/TY
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 4 years' experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area required
