Information Governance Technology Consultant

The Information Governance Technology Consultant will design and implement technological solutions for Iron Mountain's Information Governance & Digital Solutions sector. This role involves developing and delivering technology solutions through consulting projects focused on legal research requirements pertinent to information governance, particularly concerning record retention and data privacy, as maintained in Iron Mountain's internal database taxonomies. Key technical responsibilities encompass problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specifications, solution design, implementation, testing, system integrations, colleague training, solution deployment, and automation solutions aimed at enhancing process efficiency. Participation in client proposal presentations to elucidate technical solution capabilities addressing specific client concerns regarding legal research content is also expected. The consultant will assist with integration across various systems, particularly with Google applications (maps, drive, sheets, docs). Additionally, the consultant will identify and propose further product/service opportunities utilizing Iron Mountain's internal research content. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google applications (maps, drive, sheets, docs) is essential. Experience in implementing technology solutions within metadata systems and taxonomy databases is required, while familiarity with information governance, records management, or legal research is advantageous. Performance metrics will be based on personal goal progress regarding implementations, maintenance of technical solutions, and agreed-upon deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design: Craft comprehensive technology solutions that meet client requirements and align with business objectives in Iron Mountain's information governance sector. Develop architectural designs, blueprints, and documentation that detail the structure and components of the proposed solutions, particularly concerning taxonomy databases.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate cross-functionally with development teams, IT personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions.
  • Requirements Analysis: Collaborate closely with internal teams to gather and analyze business requirements. Translate these requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs that can be integrated into our systems.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of technology solutions. Stay informed about industry trends and advancements.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with technology solutions. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and resolve issues.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including design diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans. Ensure all documentation is current and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct reviews and audits of technology solutions to ensure they meet quality standards and performance requirements. Implement best practices for testing and validation. Maintain existing processes and procedures to ensure our content remains up to date.

Key Skills, Requirements, and Competencies:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Technology Solutions Architect or in a similar capacity, with a strong record of designing and implementing complex technology solutions. Experience with database taxonomies and legal research is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of technology architecture frameworks, software development methodologies, and IT infrastructure. Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and enterprise architecture tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to evaluate complex business challenges and devise effective technology solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Capacity to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to evolving technology landscapes and business needs. Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and methodologies.
