Position Overview:

Take advantage of the opportunity to make a significant impact as a Service Operations Manager supporting the United States Postal Service (USPS). At General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will contribute to meaningful projects and develop a fulfilling career.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the Maintenance Technical Support Center, ensuring that USPS mail handling equipment is properly maintained and operational.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and direct field service operations within the organization.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for on-site installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mail handling equipment.
  • Ensure that all field service projects are executed within budget and deadlines to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Utilize extensive experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives.
  • Encourage creativity and independence in decision-making.
  • Supervise both non-exempt and exempt personnel.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in field support for electro-mechanical systems, optical character recognition (OCR), automated material handling, and broadband communication systems.
  • Experience with mail and package sortation equipment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing field service operations.
  • Proficient in developing policies and procedures for on-site installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mail handling equipment.
  • Proven track record of ensuring all field service projects are completed within budget and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills.

Security Clearance Level:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance and successfully complete a thorough Government background screening process.
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement.
