Lead AI/ML Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview:
The Lead AI/ML Infrastructure Engineer is tasked with the design, development, and maintenance of advanced platforms within the organization's technological landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze intricate technical challenges and devise effective solutions to uphold the integrity of the platform, which encompasses operating systems, hardware, and software infrastructure essential for the user base and application environments.
- Collaborate with fellow IT specialists, including Application, Architect, and Database Engineers, to ensure seamless, secure, and resilient platform operations.
- Leverage extensive expertise in both traditional and contemporary platforms to guarantee optimal performance and reliability of the company’s infrastructure, supporting both cloud and on-premises systems in alignment with DevOps initiatives and overarching business objectives.
Platform Maintenance:
- Oversee the hardware, software, and network specifications of the platform to align with business requirements and organizational standards.
- Monitor system performance and address issues proactively to enhance platform capabilities in accordance with application objectives.
DevOps Tools Management:
- Administer and configure DevOps tools (such as API Gateway, Terraform) to facilitate processes tailored to organizational needs.
- Work closely with the DevOps engineering and production teams to update, troubleshoot, and sustain platforms and environments, integrating new features and services into production.
Automation and Security:
- Identify, prioritize, and implement automated fulfillment mechanisms to optimize the delivery of essential platform services.
- Coordinate with various teams operating within the target platform to ensure efficient operations.
- Recognize and mitigate security vulnerabilities to adhere to stringent compliance standards.
Documentation and Research:
- Produce high-level design documentation as necessary.
- Conduct technical research in response to user requests for new or modified systems or for problem resolution.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with vendors and engage in discussions related to design documentation, platform modifications, and other necessary changes.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required. Alternatively, a minimum of 12 years of experience in a Platform Engineer role or a similar position is acceptable.
- Preferred certifications include Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in platform engineering and infrastructure components.
- Proficiency in automated interactions with physical infrastructure and managing cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring and log management tools like Nagios, Splunk, and ELK.
- Expertise in developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Technical Skills:
- Strong scripting capabilities in languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in developing and deploying innovative MLOps solutions to support AI and ML applications.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot MLOps solutions and related issues, staying updated on the latest AI/ML technologies and trends.
- Experience with Dataiku or other AI platforms.
