Position Overview:
As a Site Reliability Engineer or Senior, you will leverage your technical expertise to assist stakeholders and end users, ensuring seamless operational continuity. You will champion quality initiatives by supporting the application product lifecycle while staying updated on emerging technologies to enhance application architecture, software design, and development. Your role will be crucial in guaranteeing that supported applications are operational and accessible by devising solutions that minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate under moderate supervision, employing standard procedures to deliver technical support and operational guidelines for business functions and application development, ensuring optimal application performance in production, testing, and development environments.
  • Provide rotational 24x7 on-call support as required by the business, with minimal assistance from senior staff. Engage in data analysis, capacity planning, and execution of contingency strategies. Understand and trace transaction, batch, and file processing flows.
  • Develop moderately complex solutions utilizing the available technology stack to enhance monitoring capabilities for application services in a large-scale, intricate environment.
  • Analyze customer requirements to create solutions within an expanding scope. Design, code, and test high-quality, efficient, and secure solutions with limited guidance.
  • Ensure that supported application services maintain high availability, reliability, and performance through effective monitoring, alerting, and notification systems.
  • Collaborate in identifying repetitive, manual, and scalable tasks, and automate them with minimal guidance using scripting or programming languages and tools.
  • Implement and maintain dashboards based on current operational needs using identified key operational metrics and the necessary data. Test and verify that all infrastructure components meet performance and capacity standards.
  • Consult with stakeholders on moderately complex issues regarding the impact of development on infrastructure, collaborating with system engineers and developers to define technology stack configuration settings, and participating in new application and infrastructure design meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adhere to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and punctual attendance.
Education and Experience:

Site Reliability Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience or Associate's Degree with 5+ years of professional experience.

Site Reliability Engineer Senior: Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience or Associate's Degree with 7+ years of professional experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and create complex technical documentation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret business operational requirements.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues and communicate technical analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to provide clear and concise instructions and resolutions.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Platform technologies, infrastructure, and practices in a production environment, including CloudWatch, Cloud Trail, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and others.
  • Experience in engineering and development for operational needs using tools such as GitLab, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in coding languages relevant to operational requirements, such as Python, Java, and .NET.
  • Understanding of deployment patterns, version control, ITIL framework, resiliency concepts, and disaster recovery.
Physical Demands and General Working Conditions

Traditional office environment: Employees typically spend most of the day seated, working with a computer, and may respond to phone calls. Physical movement includes walking for meetings and breaks. Ability to lift items weighing approximately 20 pounds on a limited basis is required.
