POSITION SUMMARY

The Counselor will deliver ongoing, trauma-informed counseling services to adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender violence. The focus will be on non-residential clients within the community, including a significant number of Spanish-speaking individuals. The role involves assisting clients in managing their trauma and understanding the effects of domestic violence on their lives and their children's lives. The Counselor will support clients in achieving economic stability through case management, advocacy, and referrals to relevant organizations as needed. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct evidence-based assessments and psychosocial interviews for adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.
  • Provide comprehensive, trauma-informed individual and group counseling services with a focus on trauma and strengths-based approaches to facilitate client healing and coping.
  • Offer safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, and referrals to additional services as required.
  • Prepare affidavits and provide testimony for immigration and other legal matters.
  • Engage in trauma-related outreach and training initiatives for community organizations and institutions.
  • Maintain accurate case records and utilize internal database systems to monitor client services and outreach activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

  • Establish and maintain a network of contacts with other social service agencies.
  • Collaborate with and refer clients to external counseling programs when appropriate.
  • Communicate openly with clinical and other staff from Family Justice Centers (FJC).
  • Work collaboratively with agency staff across all locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or Limited Permit required.
  • Ability to work full-time in a hybrid model.
  • Experience in providing counseling and related services to survivors of domestic violence.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with professionals from various disciplines.
  • Familiarity with social services focusing on women's issues is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in a language other than English is preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Budgeted Salary: $67,584 - $74,655 per year, based on experience and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Work position: Full-time, Salaried- Exempt.

Work schedule: Currently hybrid; must meet job location schedule obligations.
