AHRC New York City is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Habilitation Counselor to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and patient individual to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their private homes and communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, skills training, socialization, and community participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and personal care.
  • Develop and implement skills training plans to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  • Facilitate socialization and community participation through recreational activities and outings.
  • Collaborate with the support team to ensure seamless care and support.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
