POSITION SUMMARY

The Counselor will deliver ongoing, trauma-informed counseling services to adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and various forms of gender violence. The focus will be on clients residing in the community, with a significant portion being Spanish-speaking individuals. The Counselor will assist clients in navigating their trauma and comprehending the effects of domestic violence on their lives and their children's lives, while also guiding them towards economic stability through case management, advocacy, and referrals to additional support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and psychosocial interviews for adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services that are trauma-informed and strengths-based, aiding clients in processing and healing from their experiences.
  • Facilitate safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, and necessary referrals to related services.
  • Offer affidavits and legal testimony for immigration and other legal matters.
  • Engage in outreach and training related to trauma and domestic violence for community organizations and institutions.
  • Maintain precise case records and utilize internal databases to track client services and outreach activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

  • Establish and maintain connections with other social service agencies.
  • Collaborate with and refer clients to external counseling programs as appropriate.
  • Engage with clinical staff and other personnel from Family Justice Centers (FJC) to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Work in partnership with agency staff across various locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or Limited Permit is required.
  • Ability to work full-time in a hybrid model.
  • Experience in providing counseling and support services to survivors of domestic violence.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, engaging with professionals from diverse disciplines.
  • Familiarity with social services focused on women's issues is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in a language other than English is preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range: $67,584 - $74,655 annually, based on experience and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
